Is a National Sustainable Development Strategy Necessary?

Abstract

The author proves the necessity of forming the Russian national idea on the basis of a sustainable innovative development concept complemented by traditional values, stereotypes and taking into account real conditions of the country. Mental phenomena of the Russian society (statehood, natural resource potential, high science traditions, demographics etc.), allowing it to occupy a prominent place among developed countries of the world are identified and substantiated.
