Abstract
The English system of local self-government is a basis for the organization of local authorities in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. This system has evolved from the era of Anglo-Saxon conquest, gradually becoming a unique model of local government, where a highly developed legal system, combination of tradition and innovation, self-reformation and popular initiative, will play a significant role.
