The article covers the structure, composition and authority of the Food Security Council under the RF Government designed by the authors, which is to consolidate activities of agencies within the Russian food security system. Special focus is on positive effects that could be achieved after its creation.

Successful implementation of the Russian Federation Food Security Doctrine requires creation of a system of legal, administrative, organizational measures on all levels of public administration. The article presents a structural and functional model of a state body designated to coordinate food security in the country.
