The author considers conditions that prompted authorities to a more active dialogue with civil society, in conjunction with the processes of democratization, as well as the problems of institutionalization between the power and society, the purposes and forms of their interaction. Also the article deals with the concept of civil control, highlights contemporary practices of this phenomenon in Russia.

The paper considers the problem of the institutionalization of relations between government and society in contemporary Russia, revealed the theoretical approaches of institutional interaction. Highlights the problem of interaction between political and civil institutions. The characteristic of the contemporary Russian experience of institutionalizing dialogue between the government and society provides its possible scenarios.
