Abstract
The author substantiates the necessity for application of sanctions against the violation of statutory norms regulating the use of the Russian language by government officials. Unacceptable violations of the Law on the National Language of the Russian Federation in the sphere of public service and public activity are related to a low professional speech culture. A system for testing public officials developed and piloted in RAPA is aimed to improve the situation.
