Meaning and content of Russianness in the Discourse of Civil Society Formation

Abstract

The authors describe the idea of Russianness, revealing the close link between national policy and nation building. Components of the phenomenon are listed, such as the Russian language, national character, historical memory. The authors provide theses and antitheses for the existence of the Russian nation and insist on the readiness of the population to build it, referencing the results of an opinion poll.
