Abstract
In an interview with the chairman of Kazakhstan's Agency for Civil Service Affairs, Mr. Alikhan Baimenov talks about the Public Service Institute of his country by focusing on the reforms associated with law No. 453-I dated 23 July 1999 of the Republic of Kazakhstan «On Civil Service”, the further improvement of accepted norms and system selection and the monitoring of professionalism of civil servants.
