Politics, inverted into the past

Abstract

The article focuses primarily on the interrelation between politics and its relationship with the past, which nowadays has become one of the most pressing problems of Russian society. Using scientific research (historical, comparative and causal), together with statistics allowed the author to solve the main problem in the article: firstly, to consider the prevailing attitude toward the past in the transformation of society (especially in the 90s.), and secondly, to study how the life of society is reflected in the negatively-biased (instrumental) approach to the past. The algorithmic attitude towards the past in various countries during periods of fundamental social transformation (of the Great French, February, and the October revolutions in the post-Soviet period) in many respects repeats itself. At the same time in Russia during the 90s the attitude toward the past acquired a new dimension (quality). The predominance of a negatively-biased (instrumental) attitude towards the past leads to many negative consequences in public life, including the degradation of the cognitive potential of society, large losses in culture, education, morality, value structure of society, generating destructive consequences in the economy, state building, foreign policy and other way conditions Materials subject.
