Classical music festivals in the cultural politics of Russia

Abstract

The article is dedicated towards the support and development of academic classical music festivals in Russia as an integral part of the national cultural policy. The development of a musical festival movement and its support structures are considered a necessary in: ensuring the national security of the Russian Federation, creating a favorable spiritual and moral climate in the regions of the Federation as well as creating a positive image of Russia abroad. The author proposes a number of measures towards supporting the festival movement in Russia, and gives a number of examples in creating such successful projects.
