About the concept of military coup

Abstract

The relevance of the research of coups d' état (their concept and nature, types and forms) in the context of today's threats to statehood is determined by the events of 15-16 July 2016 during the unsuccessfully attempted coup in Turkey. The article dwells upon complex scientific research of military coup and its significance in the ontology of the government and the state. The author gives a definition of "coup d'état”. The methodological basis of the study is the method of systematic and comparative analysis, as well as the method of synthesis. Application of general scientific methods has enabled the author to show the particular nature of the coup, to reflect the author's vision of its possible causes and preconditions, and to reveal its consequences.
