The article deals with the genesis of the Tyvans legal culture. It describes the influence of common law on the legal conscience of Tyva citizens, which manifests itself in the continuing importance of traditions and customs to the present day. The author presents an analysis of key publications on the issue, in its historical aspect as well as in contemporary research.
