The author analyses the Draft Federal Law 'On Security', pointing out problematic issues. These include: logical ambiguity of the draft title; vagueness of the conceptual apparatus; lack of legal mechanisms to support national security. Special focus is on possible solutions, namely, improvement of the legal draft writing technique.
