The article deals with the evolution of direct democracy and its prospects in the modern political process in Russia. It's analyzed of the definitions of "direct democracy" and the basic forms of democracy. The author provides concrete examples of the involvement of the public in dialogue with the government and highlights the most modern forms of direct democracy reflecting the political reality of the problem.
