The author introduces the term ‘communicative regime' as an indispensable feature of a comprehensive analysis of political discourse. A historical analysis of the French political culture, the Russian pre-revolution communicative regime and its adaptation to political objectives of the Soviet period allows to identify more meaningful features of political discourse.

The author attempts to analyze the work of a philosopher little known in Russia, but quite popular in the West – Alain Badiou, emphasizing the originality of the approach of this Communist and Maoist ideology follower who applied an interpretation of Apostle Paul's teachings to conceptualize the transformations of the modern era and develop a concept of political action in the new conditions.
