The variety of approaches to the study of the different types of the political ideologies and their branches are examined in the article by the author. The basic ideologies of the modern era are analyzed. They are compared on such fundamental issues as the evolution of development, the basic values and principles, the set of recognized rights and freedoms of citizens, the attitude towards the role of the government and individuals in the life of the society and the views on the origin of the state.

The article discusses the features of ideological, political, constitutional and legal developments and their influence in the formation of civil society institutions within a democratic state.
