The problems of the quality and accessibility of the medical services in the health institutions of the Republic of Mordovia are analyzed in the article, the main directions of their further development are defined. It is concluded that due to the implementation of the active state policy in the sphere of health care the quality and accessibility of the medical services in the region have improved.

The article analyzes the indicators of quality of care and delivery of health services in the regions of the Volga Federal District. An SWOT-analysis of the quality of the health care system was carried out in the Republic of Mordovia, which resulted in recommendations to improve its effectiveness.
