The concept of the secular state and its key features are considered in the article. The complexity of some aspects of secularism in terms of political and ideological pluralism and also some inconsistency of the provisions specified in the regulatory legal acts are emphasized by the author. The author notes how these provisions are implemented in the Russian reality.
