The results of the research of the organization of the supplementary vocational education of civil servants of the Siberian Federal District are considered in the article. The problems that affect negatively the efficiency of the supplementary vocational education as the basis of the professional development are revealed. The technique of planning and organizing the supplementary vocational education allowing to increase its influence on the professional development of civil servants is offered.
