The forms of the support of the senior citizens, both in and outside the family are described in the article. Basing on statistical data, the author made conclusions about the attitude of the different age groups to such form of support for the seniors as nursing homes. In addition, such promising directions for the development of the social support services for the seniors as targeting and segmentation are considered
