Abstract
Many public holidays around the world are observed to celebrate victories in wars and major battles. Victory Day, which marks the end of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 and is also celebrated as the end of the Second World War, holds a special place. However, the attitude of the leaders of world powers, including those that took part in these historical events, to this memorable date remains ambiguous.
