Whether science is needed in post-industrial society (on social scientism Y.A. Zhdanov and the modern social antiscientism)

Abstract

The article analyses the provision of modern science on the bases of the theoretical views of the representatives of the Southern Russia philosophical school, including Y.A. Zhdanov, who estimated its value from the social aspect. The author identifies new approaches to the definition of the role and place of knowledge and institutionalized incarnation of science in the modern world, he characterizes these approaches as a «social antiscientism».
