Operative task performance in large organizations

Abstract

The article covers processes in а large (bureaucratic) organization management system acting in the urgent tasks mode. Processes are discovered to be similar to those in manufacture and logistics supply chain management. A pattern of tasks assignment and execution in the above - mentioned companies is described as a system with two streams inside: descending (information about task) and ascending (resulting document or some other result of an accomplished task); besides the objective laws of these processes are defined. Conclusions about the reasons of the problems of often use of the operating control by the top-management and guidelines how to avoid these problems based on the analysis of several large organizations’ management practice are given.
