Crisis as a chance

Abstract

January 14, the VI Gaidar Forum was opened at the site of the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration, it was traditionally organized by the RANEPA and the Gaidar Institute for Economic Policy (The Gaidar Institute) with the support of the Yegor Gaidar Foundation. The Gaidar Forum has gained a reputation of a serious club for business people - politicians and businessmen, scientists and experts - becoming equal to major international politico-economical forums, opening a new calendar year and creating an agenda for the upcoming discussions of specialists. Proposals expressed from the tribunes of the Academy those days were of particular importance due to close attention to them from the Government of the Russian Federation, which annually requests the proceedings of the Forum on the results of the discussion for further analysis and practical application of expert advice. The journal «Public Administration» publishes a detailed report of the discussions from the Forum about the current economic situation and the possibilities of radical structural changes in the economy of the country.
